MORNING DISCUSSION: Repairing the City
Some artists want to use their art to repair things. Diana Shpungin fixes broken objects. Jan Vorman fills gaps in broken buildings with legos and encourages others to do the same. Charles Simonds fills in broken buildings too, but with clay villages that look like ancient ruins. Juliana Santacruz Herrera fills in potholes with crocheted yarn. The collective, Knitta, uses embellishes harsh things with knitted clothes to make the city a little cozier.
TODAY’S PRACTICE
Clay and yarn are available if you ever see anything that needs fixing or just a little love.
